Adult Beginner Mechanic Class

This class is created for folks who want to learn about bikes in a safe and fun environment. It is designed to help participants grow as mechanics – with skills that they can use on their own rides, or to volunteer for our programming.

During the two-day session, you’ll learn how to perform routine maintenance on your own bicycle through supervised, hands-on instruction from our professional mechanics.

The program will include:

                        • How to clean and inspect a bicycle for an mechanical issues
                        • Flat tire repair
                        • Brake adjustments
                        • Shifting adjustments
                        • One copy of Park Tool’s Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair

The best part is that you’ll not just be learning for your own sake, but you can also help us prepare bicycles for our other programs, and learn the skills necessary to assist with our other classes or drop-in sessions.

When: Class sessions are offered in the spring two nights in a row from 6:30-8:30 PM.
