1 session consists of 4 classes, each focused on particular topics:

Tuesday, March 20: Flat Repair, Standard Maintenance, Cleaning, Wear Items

Thursday, March 22: Bearings, Discussion of Wheel Truing

Tuesday, March 27: Brakes, Wheel Truing as needed

Thursday, March 29: Drivetrain, Shifting

Students may bring their own bikes, but may also use bikes provided by The Common Wheel for the hands-on portions of the program.

The goal of the class is to provide concrete instruction and hands-on experience to empower the at-home mechanic. It is not intended to substitute for professional bike shop service and payment of program fees explicitly does not comes with a guarantee that a student’s bike will be “tuned-up” or “overhauled” by the end of the course. If you bring a bike in good condition, it will leave as good if not better. If you bring a bike that is in need of extensive services, we cannot promise that you will be able to finish all repairs by course end.
